Title: Who Wants to be a Superhero?
Post by: AJStarhiker on August 11, 2006, 11:44:58 AM
Any body else watching it on the SciFi channel?  Some of the contestants are so over the top, it's hilarious.

I hope Major Victory wins it- he doesn't take himself too seriously, and he seems to honestly be a nice guy. (Whereas some of those girls are all super-fake whenever Stan Lee is around, and then bitchify when he's not)

Yeah.  He's kinda flaky, but it fits him.

I've missed it so, but I was really curious as to how you go about faking a super power and then actually trying to do something with it in real life.

Well, so far its been not so much superpowers as tests of character.  One guy got kicked of because he planned on make money off the action figures he wanted to make.

Yeah. I didn't know they were planning to kick off two people each show, so I thought Stan Lee was being a jackass about it.

But it makes sense. If you're going on this show just to become famous and rich, and not to be a superhero, then you shouldn't be there.

Of course, some of the other eliminations have been a little 'iffy.'

Although having one guy eliminated and come back as a bad guy was pretty cool. Okay, very cool.

lol, I kinda watched it last night. I'm sorry, the only good thing about that show is the Brunette with the big cans.

Yeah, the brunette with the cans got kick off. (both of them, in fact.)

The three people left are Feedback (who takes himself a little too seriously), Fat Momma (who, while a good person, doesn't really strike me as a superhero), and Major Victory (who does strike me as a good superhero).

Well, they have these little tests every week, and the first one was they had to like walk into a diner and buy lunch- seems simple enough, but there was a cute/hot guy/girl (depending on the Superhero/heroine) who had just started there, who flirted with them and asked for thier real identity.

Monkey woman (the girl with the hooters) was the only superhero to give up her name without being asked what it was. Which was kind of pathetic. Plus, she lied about being an actor, so Stan kicked her off.

The girl in the gold (just in case you were interested in her but not monkey woman) was kicked off after the heroes each had to speak to a 'real' prison inmate, and help them turn away from a life of crime. In addition, each was given a 'secret task' to touch the inmate, rub thier shoulders, hug them, or sit on thier lap. The girl in the gold took the sitting one, only to have the inmate freak out when she tried to sit on her lap. Everyone else managed to accomplish thier tasks, so Stan kicked her off too.

You know, I really wanted to watch this show, but I have to say, it just sounds kind of sad.

Yeah, I feel kind of bad for these people, because they take themselves WAY TOO SERIOUSLY. Especially Stan Lee. I mean, the man has a bust of himself sitting on the desk in front of him. What's the deal with that?

Anyway, it's kind of comical and funny, and some of the things make me wonder how I would do in those situations. I don't know- maybe that's the point. In any case, I think there's only like one or two more episodes left before the end of the summer season, and then things will be back to the normal fall lineup.
