An original BBC series
The premise:
DCI Sam Tyler's is knocked unconscious by a speeding car. His last view of 2006 is the road bed. He wakes up in 1973 where he's a DI starting his first day in a new precinct and he's got to prove himself to his new DCI, Gene Hunt, the Gov, a neanderthal of a unreconstructed cop. To Sam, a 21st Century liberal, the Gov represents everything that is bad about the police force, everything that the force has tried to stamp out over the last 30 years.
Dazed and confused, he becomes ever more doubtful about the reality of his situation when doctor's voices from 2006 bleed through into 1973. Is he in a coma and none of this is real?

Well, except for a few shows, Sci-Fi hasn't really been making a very good showing lately. Just about every original movie sucks troll dong and they've never really captured my attention with an original, other than BSG, since Farscape. They REALLY need to get some better talent on that channel.

well the problem isnt talent so much as an unwillingness to pay money. Thats why they cancelled Farscape, they didnt want to pay for it even though it was the highest rated show theyve ever had, and also one of the highest rated shows on tv at the time.
part of the problem too is they mostly just grab other channels cast off shows, like Dead like me
and WTF is with them hosting freaking ecw now???

Sci-Fi is owned by Viacom, which is owned by Universal. Originally it was just a channel for infomercials and old star trek re-runs, but it has made quite a bit of money since then.
I think they actually stopped paying for Farscape and instead developed Battlestar Galactica and Eureka. Which is why there was that year of dead time, and now they have two kick-ass shows, rather than just one.
The big problem with Sci-Fi Channel shows is that they tend to be fairly plot-intensive, so if you miss a show, the next one doesn't make sense.
And speaking of Sci-Fi shows, I've decided to boycott Who Wants to Be a Superhero from now on. I didn't like the portrayal of Stan Lee as the godfather of comic books, seeing as how he was only editor at Marvel, and his last few comic books have fallen flatter than... insert erectile disfunction joke here.
I mean, he got sued for publishing Stripperella because... he stole the idea from his 'usual girl' down at the gentlemen's club.
I think he did a lot for comics, but as icons go, I can take him or leave him.

but i liked the guy who won and I wanted hiom to win
and Ive always liked Stan
an Stan was WAY more than editor
atleast in the early days
later on they kinda shoved him the corner and made him figurehead while they fragged up the company
If Stan had had more control I can bet they wouldnt have had to declare bankruptcy so many times or had all the crapfests, such as doing their own distribution and stuff like that

I have to agree with Swirler on this one. I think Stan Lee is a great thing for comics in general and Marvel in particular. He has charisma and that counts for a lot in this industry. ANd he did do a lot for comics in the past. He and Jack Kirby, well if you don't know, I can't tell you. Anyway, I don't mind him being the Comic Book World Avatar at all. and if he goes to strip joint, well what comic nerd HAS'T gone to a strip joint? Stan just has a drek-laod more money to do it with. ;)

Yeah, Houston is pretty outrageous when it comes to strip-joints. I've never SEEN so many strip-joints on one highway before in my life, and this from a guy who grew up going to the French Quarter every weekend.
