Based on Frank Miller's graphic novel of the same name, this is the tale of King Leonadus of Sparta and the 300 soldiers who defeated the persian empire army of over a million soldiers.
Trailer: Here (http://raincloud.warnerbros.com/wbmovies/300/teaser/teaser_500.mov)
Favorite part of the trailer:"The thousand nations of the persian empire will attack, and thier arrows will blot out the sun!"
And the Spartan replies, "Well, then we will fight in the shade."
-
Yeah, the spartans prided themselves on being 'badass'.
-
As well they should; they were pretty badass.
I'm not a whole fan of the 'you have to sodomize someone to be considered a man' tradition, though. Not really my cup of tea.
Still, this is an awesome story of bad-assitude if I've ever heard one.
-kv
-
Okay. We can totally go see this movie.
-
I'm not a whole fan of the 'you have to sodomize someone to be considered a man' tradition,
To the best of my knowledge, this is a later misrepresentation.
-
what program does it use? I can't watch it
-
The Spartans WERE into bisexuality. In a big way. But don't let that make you think they were pussies. Just because a guy likes a bit of man-love doesn't mean he won't cut your head off and feed it to your children.
Gabriel
-
Oh yes, no question about that, but as far as I know, it was not used (in the way described) as a 'manhood' ritual.
-
Really?
Cool. Cause I liked the spartans, and I was a little dissapointed in them when I heard that. Not that what I think of them matters at all, but you know.
-kv
-
Oh yes, no question about that, but as far as I know, it was not used (in the way described) as a 'manhood' ritual.
AH, gotcha. And don't worry Kid_Vid, I'm sure you Troll friend won't think any less of you for feeling "dissapointed" in the Spartan way of life. ;)
Gabriel
-
This movie looks like it's gonna be badass...I can't wait to see it.
-
The new trailers are even more badass. And Mi Amore wants to see it, so I'll get to go opening night!
Trailer 1 (http://www.apple.com/trailers/wb/300/trailer1/large.html)
Trailer 2 (http://www.apple.com/trailers/wb/300/trailer2/large.html)
-kv
-
Yeah I've seen those both! I'm still ready to go see it!!!
-
Strangely enough, my girlfriend is looking forward to it, too. I love it when we agree on movies. ;)
Gabriel
-
Yeah Nike is down with seeing it too... ;D
-
Elena said it was because she wants to see Gerard Butler in iron underpants, so that might be a cross-gender promotional.
-kv
-
Well, I'm thinking triple date here people. Just let me know when you are all going to show up and I will make sure to have a few beds ready for you.
Gabriel
-
yea, I most definately wanna go and see the movie. It's gonna be kick ass. ;D
-
Alright six of us together after seeing a gangsta movie like that...I'm thinkin all night Shadowrun here baby!!!
-
LOL, how about a run against the theaters showing it and getting all of the copies of the movie for ourselves. ;)
Gabriel
-
That is a great idea, especially at this little dingy ass theater by my house. There's like 5 people working at a time. I got all the angles covered, and since this is such a low crime area they don't even have cameras installed...
-
Well then, we just have to get a fixxer to get us a projector of some sort and there we are.
Gabriel
-
I know a manager at another movie theater, I might be able to make a call...
-
My cousin is a Manager so I can talk to him. I get free tickets when I call and ask so I dont think it will be a problem.
-
Myah-ha-ha! Inside jobs rock.
Gabriel
-
LOL, This is so true, ;D
-
So what was the point of the projector? Oh yeah so we can hijack the movie just for ourselves!!! ;D
-
Yeah... why not just call the manager, and instead of stealing one of his projectors, you just have him get you free tickets to the movie?
Isn't Rule Numbero Uno of Shadowrun "Do not attract undue attention," or something like that?
-kv
-
Yeah we could do that, but I mean where's the fun there?
-
Well, there's always the not getting caught, but maybe it's just me that enjoys that. ;D
-kv
-
Yeah that's true. In all honesty I'll probably actually fork out the cash and bitch and moan about the uncomfortable seats...
-
I agree about the seats. Why can't they be a little comfortable? ;D
-
I used to work at a movie theater. They have uncomfortable seats because they're cheap and nigh-indestructible. Which is something you need when A) You have dumb kids jumping up and down on them, B) People having sex on them or C) homeless people wandering in and sleeping for a few hours.
-kv
-
LOL, Thanks that makes alot of sense. I never thought of it like that
-
Want me to explain why there are commercials at the beginning of movies now?
-kv
-
Please do
-
Yeah I am curious about the commericals, that is realitivly new for me. Oh but as far as the seats, when I went to the Chinese theater in LA, it had some nice ass leather seats, I could lay out on it...
-
I'm sure you could, lol :o
-
Hell yeah, propped my feet up and everything.
-
nike jusy make kazi take the quarters outr of his pocket the set should be comfy again :mercy:
-
LOL, I'll see what I can do, ;)
-
She likes when I have things pokin through my pants...
-
alright I think we are getting off the topic a lil, lol ;D
-
Yeah, I'd say so. So who plans on seeing this movie on opening night??
Gabriel
-
This movie does look good, and all I can think of while waiting for it is the Samurai Jack episode based of the battle of Thermoplye. That was bad ass, so naturally I'm psyched for a live-action, chock full of battle movie.
-
I thought I was the only one who was a Samurai Jack fan here. I listened to the audio comentary about that episode and loved it. So when I saw the trailer for 300, I thouhgt of Jack jumping out of nowhere and just whooping the Persians' hoops.
Gabriel
-
Although Samurai Jack should probably get his own thread, yes, I am a huge fan. It's one of the only series I own DVDs to, so that should say something.
"You can fly!?!?"
"No! Jump good!"
-
Yeah, I hear they're releasing it at the same time in IMAX as normal, so Elena and I are going to cruise out and watch it opening day in all it's glory.
-kv
-
If I can scrape together enough cred I might see it opening night, but right now that's not lookin to pretty...
-
Well, Elena and I just looked it up, and there is a midnight showing at the IMAX theater here, so I'm going to stay up late and ignore the fact that I have to be up at like 7am for class, and watch it in all awesomeness.
I probably won't be able to post anything on here until Saturday, at the earliest, so you chummers will have a chance to watch it (or not) before I tell you what I think.
-kv
-
I wish I could see it on IMAX. :::sigh::: Oh well... :(
Gabriel
-
I thought you lived somewhere that there were IMAX theaters... that sucks, man. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to rub it in or anything. I'm just excited to see it.
-kv
-
Closest IMAX is in New Orleans, and I don't go down there anymore. It was bad before the big hurricane, now it's just that much worse.
Gabriel
-
Yeah I would have to drive like 40 miles to the closest IMAX myself, so I'll settle for the standard movie theater screen with the red drapes...
-
Well, turns out I can't go see it this weekend. :'( I'll have to wait until next weekend.
Gabriel, the sad elf
-
Hmmm... I guess I shouldn't be happy that one of my friends who still works for the theater is trying to get me to go to an advanced screening of it tonight, in addition to my fiance taking me to see it in IMAX tomorrow.
-kv the blessed
-
I don't think that I've ever been to an IMAX theater. Is there a noticable diffence over contemporary theaters?
-
The screen is like 300 feet tall. And some of the movie is in 3-D using effects and glasses you ahve to wear.
It was awesome for Superman Returns, because the whole plane scene was done in 3D.
It was awesome.
Unfortunatly, it's not going to be awesome for me, because a bunch of other people had the same idea, and it's sold out. So I guess I'll have to sneak into an IMAX showing sometime in the near future.
-kv
-
I'll be going saturday. I'll let you know what I think
-
I saw a nature documentary at an IMAX once. Those crabs looked REAL!!!
Gabriel
-
dude, I don't wanna hear about your "crabs"
-
Yeah, figured you would beat Kid_Vid to that.
Gabriel
-
lol, since we were both on at the same time, yea
-
Well, for traditional 3D glasses, with the red lens and the blue lens, they never worked for me.
I have very damaged eyesight, so I have high perscription glasses. I don't know if that has an effect, or my astigmatism, like the image isn't focused just so on the retina, but I have never noticed a difference with old-school 3D. But IMAX sounds more CG-based rather than optical, so it seems more likely to be successful.
-
yea, I would think that your eyesight would have to be halfway decent for the old school 3d to work
-
Well, the new technology used LED crystals in the glasses which activate and deactive the lenses several hundered times a second so that you don't really notice it conciously, but still get the 3-D effect.
Gabriel
-
I use to wear those red/blue glasses around for fun...but now I have to wear prescription lenses thanks to the damage it caused to my eyesight...
-
Ah, the joy of being a nerd... 8)
Gabriel
-
;D Hell yeah...I think I can dig up a pic of me wearing those with an afro wig on too...
-
Well that sounds like a nice image. Myabe I'll post the picture of me and the gay tooth fairy.
Gabriel
-
Alright I'll dig it up and post it under GENERAL...
-
Anyway, it's time to start saying what everyone thinks of this movie, now that it's out (once they've seen it)
I saw it last night with my fiance and friends. I thought it was awesome. I looks like the book I grew up reading- the Spartans are manly and kick so much ass that it's hardly comprehendable.
Bad-assitude on this level hasn't been seen in a long, Long time.
Go tell the Spartans, passerby,
That here, by Spartan law, we lie
-kv
-
I'm jealous. I REALLY want to see it tonight. >:(
Gabriel
-
Lucky son of a slitch...I gotta work tonight, but I might try to slide in there tomorrow during the day...
-
Maybe we should just put out a contract on Kid_Vid so he doesn't get to see it at all. I mean, if he's going to brag about it and all.
Gabriel
-
Nah he just knows the right people...that's all...
-
Well, I did run a movie theater for like two years. You pick up some contacts in the industry that way. I STILL know the major managers for three theaters around my house- one of them I can just walk into any time and watch the movie for free, one of them I can do it whenever the head manager is around, and the other, well, I could hang out there, but they don't usually have many good movies.
On top of that, my fiance loves movies, so we go whenever we can.
I'm just lucky.
Oh, but 300. You have GOT to see it.
I know the Spartans were supposed to fight naked, but that would have been a little distracting. Instead, they give the Spartans red capes and like... iron underpants or something. But the battle scenes are partially filmed in slow motion, so you're watching these Spartans just run through these crowds of persians, killing everyone in thier wake.
The battle scenes are incredible.
Oh, and the two lines actually credited to the Spartans in the story, "We will fight in the shade," and "Come and take them," were both in the book and the movie. That's a level of bad-assitude that I can barely comprehend.
-kv
-
I went to see this movie yesterday. I really liked it. If you haven't seen it yet, go. The action scenes were kick ass!
-
hopefully Krazi & I will be able to see it this week...
-
Going to see it this weekend. Last weekend was a bit too full.
Gabriel
-
I might be able to catch it before it leaves the theaters
-
Go for a matinee- it's a lot cheaper, and it starts at like 5:00, so you still have time to do whatever during the evening afterward.
-kv
-
Yeah maybe...
-
hehe, matinees are nice. I went really early and caught the 10:30 show ;D
-
Well, I am eagerly awaiting Friday so I can see it and come out of the theater yelling, "THIS. IS. SPARTA!!!!!!"
Gabriel
-
Well this other movie Nike wants to see comes out friday...so we might have to make a compromise
-
That movie coming out friday is gonna be bad ass..... :D
-
what movie would that be?
-
Preminition.. I believe it has Sandra Bullock in it. I love movies like that...
-
Sandra Bullock vs. 300 half-naked Spartans killing everything in sight? You're kidding, right? Is there really any doubt about which movie someone would want to see??? Give me th half-naked Spartans any day!
Gabriel
PS - However, I do love Sandra Bullock, especially when she bends over, but this time, I just have to say she loses.
-
gabe go back and reread what you wrote lol
-
Yeah, I know, the bend over thing. Oh well, it's been typed, no sense removign it now.
Gabriel
-
ain't nothin wrong with sandra bullock bending over :)
-
Hey she has different tastes in movies, I have to admit sometimes she picks pretty good movies. We'll end up seeing them both I'm sure, but I am pretty excited about Preminition as well
-
I just want to get a copy of Sandra BUllock's porn movie.

Iran calls Hollywood blockbuster cultural "warfare"
By Fredrik Dahl
TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iran denounced Hollywood's latest blockbuster film, depicting the 480 B.C. battle between the Persian army and a band of Greeks, as "hostile behavior which is the result of cultural and psychological warfare."
Last week's North American opening of "300," while Tehran is embroiled in a standoff with Western nations over its nuclear program, led Iran and its film fans to see the movie as a Western effort to vilify their nation through history.
The film sold an estimated $70 million worth of tickets in its first three days, setting a new record for a March release, the film's distributor Warner Bros. Pictures said on Sunday.
But Iranians were clearly offended at the way their ancestors were portrayed in the film, inspired by the tale of 300 Spartans under King Leonidas who held out at Thermopylae against a Persian invasion led by Xerxes in 480 B.C.
The government, lawmakers and Iranian Web logs (blogs) denounced the movie, which depicts the huge Persian army as ruthless but repeatedly outsmarted by the Greeks who are only defeated in the end by treachery.
Even though the film by U.S. director Zack Snyder has only just hit theatres in the United States, poor quality pirated copies are already available in the Iranian capital.
Government spokesman Gholamhossein Elham branded it an insult against Iran, where the first Persian empire emerged to become the world's most powerful in the sixth century B.C. before it was conquered by Alexander the Great two centuries later.
"Not only would no nation or government accept this...but it would also consider it as hostile behavior which is the result of cultural and psychological warfare," he told a regular press briefing on Tuesday.
Four MPs urged Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki and Culture and Islamic Guidance Minister Mohammad Hossein Saffar-Harandi to ask other Muslim countries not to show "this anti-Iranian Hollywood movie," ISNA news agency said.
Iranians take great pride in their history and the empire they founded, and any perceived slight against that heritage often sparks criticism across the political and social spectrum.
An Iranian circulated a petition against the film on the Internet, saying the film was both "fraudulent and distorted."
Western historians have often said the battle was the first major conflict between the East and the ancient Greek city states, seen as the cradle for Western values.
In contrast to the angry reaction in Iran, "300" has earned largely positive reviews in North America, despite or because of its decapitations and battlefield carnage.

Okay, now I've GOT to see this....
-
Wait... they're mad because 300 spartans kicked thier ass two thousand years ago, or they're mad that we made a movie about it that talks about the heroics of the spartan soldiers?
Either way... huh? The Battle of Thermopylae is a matter of historic fact. Some of the facts may have been romantisized, but... 300 spartans. One million persians. Spartans kick ass and hold back the persian army for three days- but are eventually wiped out.
I'm not seeing anything they could directly get mad about. Unless they're just mad because they lost. The movie didn't even go into the resulting defeat of the persian army- where Xerses himself retreated to persia with his honor guard, and then left the rest of his army to be slaughtered.
Because the Spartans held off the persians for three days, the Atheneans had time to marshall thier forces, bring thier navy together, and stop the persian navy from conquering the city-states one by one. The persian forces were forced to take an overland route, cutting into thier supplies. Then, the half a million persians that were left after Xerses scrammed, they were forced to face 30,000 spartans leading a group of greek troops totalling almost one hundred thousand troops. These persian troops, who were held by by three hundred spartans, were absolutely SLAUGHTERED by the thirty thousand.
Persia never came back into greece after that. I wonder why.
-kv
-
Yeah no drek, a lesson well learned!
-
NO, they're just pissed off because AMERICA made the movie. And since I haven't seen it yet (but I will before I post again) I can't really say how cowardly they made the Persians look. I think they are just a bunch of pussies and wining about nothing again.
Gabriel
-
Well, they did have a conference recently to see if all this hoo-hah about the Holocaust actually had any merit, or if those tricky jews were just making up stories.
-kv
-
Drek I just saw on the history channel about a counterfeiting unit at a concentration camp...they didn't believe them until they found 600,000 pounds in a lake. They started listening after that.
-
Ok, I finally got a chance to see this movie and I have to say I really enjoyed it. A buddy of mine hated it because he says there was so little characterization in the movie and as a result he didn't care at all about any of the characters. Personally, I think he was just being a slitch. I loved the movie. Yes, the characterization was not very involved, but then, this wasn't a story ABOUT characterization. It was about 300 men being able to hold off an attack by 1,000,000 men. Is it historically accurate? To a point. Do you care about the characters as they go through the movie? Yes, but not as much as a movie like Braveheart. Is it major league eye-candy? OH YES! And finally, was it enjoyable to watch on the big screen? Absolutely.
I would recomend seeing it for all of those who haven't. Just don't expect an epic like Braveheart or Lord of the Rings. You won't get it.
Gabriel
:bob: :bob: :bob: :bob:
-
I think krazi and I going to see it today... His uncle saw his last night and really liked it..
-
Yeah didn't get to see it today, I saw Nike's movie instead. But I'm determined to go see it Friday!
-
sweet, let us know what you think ;D
-
Yeah, and in this movie, you get to see a lot of nipple action instead of Sandra Bullock in jeans.
Gabiel
-
I finally got to see Preminition.... I liked it all... It was a lilttle hard to understand... Even Krazi was like, what was the point of the movie, lol....
-
But no nipples, right?
Gabriel
-
mmmm, I guess what you could see.. Nothing to be like "Oh my god" or anything, lol.... My favorite movie with her in it was 28 Days...
-
I still happen to like Love Potion #9, believe it or not. Damn good movie.
Gabriel
-
I think I saw that movie before, I dunno.. I have a watched alot of movies..
-
The only nipple action you see in Premonition is through her shirt. Her nips were hard everytime she woke up. And the movie honestly didn't have a point. I mean seriously. All you are doing is just watching what happened. No action, no real storyline, and the very end...well I won't tell you the end, but it made no sense whatsoever with the rest of the movie. I failed to see the point of the movie, unless it was some deep phylisophical (spelling?) reasoning behind it.
-
Yeah, that's got to be it: deep philosophy in a hollywood movie. ;)
Gabriel
-
sorry I didn't notice that... I was actually paying attention to what the hell was going on.. And the sad thing is I still didn't understand it...
-
Me either, but it did keep me entertained...sorta...actually no that was Nike!
-
Less girl movie, more awesomeness.
Has anyone else managed to see 300 yet?
-kv
-
Uh... YEAH! Haven't you been reading the posts? I even gave it 4 Bobs.
Gabriel
-
lol, then I think that's everyone who posts on a regular basis
-
:o
-
I think we'll see it friday...I'm very excited!
-
I am excited to baby, we need to get some popcorn and chocolate cookie dough bites, :-*
-
cookie dough, mmmmmmm
-
yea. cookie dough is my favorite..... 8)
-
lol, then I think that's everyone who posts on a regular basis
Not quite everyone :(
-
It is now... ;)
Gabriel
-
I just got to survive tonight and I'm gonna see it tomorrow. Yay I'm so excited!
-
lol, go see it :)
-
Well I guess I'm not seeing it today........................
-
I saw a special on the battle on the Military History channel last night. Does that count 8)
-
No, that doesn't count.
You need to see Gerard Butler kicking ass in a loincloth, red cape, and helmet.
Historical accuracy does nothing for you.
-kv
-
Holy fraggin drek. I'm sorry guys, but this was probably the dumbest movie I've ever wasted my time watching. Aside from a few kick ass fight scenes this movie sucked. I mean one particular scene I was just like "What the frag?!" And the "Oracle" with her freaky ass nipples. I mean c'mon. Sorry I know you guys loved this movie, but man this was just a waste of my time, I'm so glad I didn't have to pay to watch it, cuz I would've been asking for my money back.
Maybe I just had such high expectations because of how badly I wanted to see it, but I mean I really couldn't stand it. I kept lookin at my watch wondering how much longer till I could leave. I wouldn't give this movie even 1 Bob it was that horrible to me.
-
to each his own :)
-
At least you didn't attack me for it! :)
-
Well, sometimes a difference of opinion is all that we have.
I guess our tastes in movies are just.... REAALLLLLLYYY different. I thought Gabe liking it too would be the clincher for everyone enjoying it, but that's okay.
Were there any other factors? You movie-hopped to this one after your other movie, right? Sometimes changing styles of movies makes it hard to get into a second one. So if people watch a romantic comedy and then hop into an action movie, they don't like the action movie, even if they normally would.
Of course, this was action movie to action movie. So I don't know where to go with that, other than that 300 was pretty visually distinct, so if that bothered you, or made a big difference, the movie wouldn't have been as fun to watch.
-kv
-
I dunno I was so pumped to go see it but it just didn't really do it for me. I mean there were some pretty kick ass scenes, but overall I just didn't like it. I dunno I guess I'm just weird like that!
-
Whateva. It's apparently not for everyone- but it takes all flavors to make a stew, and all colors to make a rainbow.
E Pluribus Unim.
-kv
-
As long as I can be GREEN
-
with envy?
-
Spartan Envy?
-kv
-
Yeah something like that!
-
I saw the movie. I enjoyed it greatly.
Yes, the oracle scene was a little. . . let's say wonky.
But overall I was impressed. You've got well choreographed battle scenes, flawlessly integrated effects and some CG. You've got slight political intrigue, and much slaying of foes.
Even the gore seemed to be done tastefully. It wasn't excessive (It actually was excessive, but that word gives the wrong conotation) so much as it was abundant.
Most of the kills were stabs through people or the occasional head falling off. But no spilled entrails, no massive blood fountains. Yes, it was violent but almost in an artistic PG-16 way.
My only complaint? The elephants and rhino were too big to be accuarate, but I'm fine with that. And the prevalence of deformed giant mutants. Nasty critters that would give the toughest Trolls around here a run for their money. . . Xerves sure collected some strange pets and troops, eh?
P.S. I just made up the PG-16 rating for the purposes of this post.
-
I wish the US had the same rating system as Britian; with the MA rating (which we use for both video games and television), that represents a step between PG-13 and R.
If we did that, life would be a lot easier. R would go back to being 'bad' movies, and the rest of us could avoid them easily.
-kv
-
lol, yea that would make life so much easier
-
Wait a mintue here. YOU MEAN SOMEONE DIDN'T LIKE ALL OF THE NIPPLES IN THIS MOVIE???????? What are you, GAY??? That oracle was HOT! And so was the queen! Oh man, I took my girlfriend home after this movie and < 39.5 MP deleted by SysOp. Trust me guy, you REALLY don't want to know what they did after this movie.>
Gabriel
-
Talon like nipples don't appeal to me man...I'm sorry...
-
it was cold in sparta
-
Cold, nekkid Spartan women means good movie! ;)
Gabriel
-
Alright alright. I'll give, but I really didn't think she was all that...now the queen was alright, but the oracle was just plain ugly...
-
Ugly, but naked and drunk. 8)
Gabriel
-
... and those are three things that assure that Gabe's date is going to end well!
-kv
-
Hey, I play to my strenghts. ;D
Gabriel
-
LOL
-
No shame in that Gabe...
-
Okay, the Oracle was a fair young lass, drugs and brainburnt 24-7. But she was okay.
The Ugly Ugly mutant priests licking her? Not so Okay.
-
With the warty tongue?
Winky shrinkage X5.
-kv
-
Yeah, no kidding...
Gabriel
-
I will admit, though, those nipples were talon-like. In fact, almost all nipples in this movie were talon-esque. The queen wasn't all that hot, but she was bad-assed. I cheered when she
(spoiler alert)
shanked that guy.
-kv
-
Actually, I think she was really hot. Of course, her attitude is just as much a part of her sex appeal as the breats and body.
Gabriel
-
If you factor in bad-ass attitude, then yes, she was hot.
-kv
-
And I always do.
Gabriel
-
Hey, I already found a gorgeous, intelligent, fun woman who likes roleplaying games (I mean Shadowrun and D&D, not sexual ones), so I'm hard-pressed to admit that anyone is hot anymore.
-kv
-
I should smite you KV for kissing all that ass....go wash your mouth! No I'm just kidding man! But I feel where he's coming from, I find it hard to find attractive women anymore now that I got my shoe!
-
Ugly, but naked and drunk. 8)
Gabriel
"You Sir, are drunk!" said she.
"Well, that may be true, but you're ugly as sin, and I'll be sober in the morning!" said he.
I find it hard to find attractive women anymore now that I got my shoe!
A Cigarette, a Shoe, a Smiley Face, a Fire Feather, A Pirate, A Clown, and A Robot. It's like this message board is a messed up game of monopoly. All the tokens are in the same spot, but there's no rent, everything's made up, and the points don't matter. ;D
-
Hahahha... Winston Churchill to Betsy Braddock, MP. ;D That is an awesome quote.
My invisible armies occupy boardwalk and park place! We're building hotels!
-kv
-
Invisible armies, eh? So if you spend the night at the hotel, the money is "deducted" invisibly from your wallet.
So it would seem that your armies are ninja then?
Devious. . .
-
Spartan Ninjas!
-kv
-
hehe, ninjas rock ;D
-
Well I guess we need to make this an A&A/Monopoly game cuz I'm about to stratigic bomb the hell outta your invisible armies. The take them over as my own!
-
Ha! Then I have wisely used media as an outlet for mis-information, and you have NO idea where they actually are!
-kv
-
Great then I can just take them as my own! So since you are there the rent is $2000!
-
Were you not paying attention, or did you simply ignore my post?
We're not there- you have no idea where we are. Plus, we snuck in, so good luck charging us rent! We're ninjas! You cannot catch us!
-kv
-
Well that's good...so we'll leave you in charge of making the virtual AA/Monopoly board so we can play ;)
-
Virtual Alcoholics Anonymous Monopoly?
That board would only have like 12 steps. Or, it could have like a million steps, but every few steps, the player would have to start over at Number 1.

A Cigarette, a Shoe, a Smiley Face, a Fire Feather, A Pirate, A Clown, and A Robot. It's like this message board is a messed up game of monopoly. All the tokens are in the same spot, but there's no rent, everything's made up, and the points don't matter. ;D
Ahh! I quoted myself. . . I feel dirty. I must be a bad influence on myself. . .

AA...stands for Axis & Allies...combine that with Monopoly would make a great game. And we have to charge rent...you need money so that you can create more Troops, Tanks, Planes, Bombers, Battleships, Subs, etc, etc

Alcoholics Anyonymous Axis and Allies Addicition Association adds animosity and alcohol for amazing awesome?

Yeah basically!

Do what you want with your armies and power plays, gentlemen. While you were doing that, oi bought the game company and I OWN the game board. You are all my pawns. How does it feel???

Well thanks, since I secretly owned the game company through various shell companies, I appreciate your money and I'm gonna go retire now! ;)

"This man turned and ran, hiding in a pit, wallowing in his own cowardice. . ."
"That wasn't cowardice!"
Heheheh
P.S. For those interested in boardgames, I recommend Game by Email. (http://www.gamesbyemail.com/) Play at your own pace, with some fun variants on a bunch of games.

Actually, I have a really detailed mental picture of Zone. It involved jumper cables, lots of oil, and a drone with snippers coming straight at my head! :zone:
