Title: Shadowrun Comic.
Post by: Curris on March 04, 2007, 11:18:03 PM
I am not sure if I mentioned this before, but I found a shadowrun comic during my internet travels. I found it very enjoyable, so here, share the joy that is my collected culture.

Page one (http://kitsune.rydia.net/comics/bulletproof/sr0101.html)

The first three comics are black and white, but they are awesome in color.

Where did that guy learn how to draw elves?? Our eards don't look like that! I think someone is overcompensating a bit. ;)

I think she learned to draw elves in her other two comics, here. (http://kitsune.rydia.net/comicsindex.html)

Maybe it's SURGE modified elves. . .

I mean Kitsune is a Fox shaman with a tail and fangs. . .

Failing that, they're foreigners. . . and they're taking your jorbs!

Uh, the comic has some heavy anime influence, so the girl has fox ears and tail.

Yeah, I read it for the last little bit before she stopped doing it, but it's great artwork. Her art these days (she still draws) is much better, but she said that she's not drawing characters she doesn't own the rights to anymore. So no more Shadowrun webcomic.

Does anyone know of any others?

I made it to page 8 and gave up...but it was pretty good...

You made it to page 8? The thing is only like 14 pages long total.

Bad Krazi. You go back and finish your webcomic!

It's 71 pages. And the fox thing is just the artist's thing. She does that in all her comics. Besides which, it's on the internet. Everything on the internet has anime influences.

Besides, wasn't there a chunck of flavor text in one of the SR manuals/sourcebooks that had an interview with a character undergoing SURGE. I think its year of the comet. They have cat people, nekos. So foxes, sure, why not?

Yeah, the girl went from being a bible-thumper to a porn star when she SURGE'd. You gotta love a woman with real claws... OUCH!

You know KV I was gonna go back and read the comic until Curris said it was 71 pages long...I don't know if I'd be entertained enough to stick through 71 pages...

I'm waiting for someone to do a non-anime SR comic, but I don't think it's going to happen. :(

I hate anime.

Maybe they are a poodle/ elf crossbreed she has going...

Uh... didn't I just say that I was thinking of doing a SR-webcomic? I have some anime influence, but it's more Akira than Escaflowne. A lot more. Or did I say that in the other thread?

Lead Salad (http://leadsalad.com/viewcomic.php?id=1)

This is black and white, but very cyberpunky, SRish. Manga influenced page layout with slanty boxes to hold the art, but no sweatdrops or other anime shtick. Very graphic at times. You'll enjoy.

And this is just to inform you that I can link you to any comic on the internet. . .

I just wanted to say something that's all...but it sorta has a point, if ignorance is bliss, but then it gets you killed, then technically it wouldn't matter cuz you'd be dead...sorta makes sense...

If you say so, chummer. Personally, I'd rather have the long life than the very brief, blissfull idiocy. And since I am such a horrible speller, I think I already have enough idiocy. :-\

Long and healthy life outweighes the short lived blissful life any day in my book.  I was simply agreeing that in an ironic fashion, it makes sense.

What you say is very logical, captain. . .

Ignorance is bliss,

He left the place he was working when they found out he was planning to quit and go into the CHP, so he was doing side work, and then some temp stuff, and finally got a job that took pretty good care of him doing tech support calls for a computer part manufacturing company.

It doesn't really matter- he goes into the CHP Academy on April 1st.

Uhhh... the tech support job he has is going to be open as of April 1st. So if you really want it, I'd reccommend sending your resume to Ruski.

If you want to email him, let me know and I'll PM you his gmail address.

Well that sucks, chummer. I say put it out anyway and bugger the consequences. Besides, with so much content on the matrix, if you don't like what you produce, it can be lost in the datascape. So, no wories.

Post by: kv on March 19, 2007, 10:22:51 AM
Well, all of the comics I read have one thing in common- people kept doing them. So if I start a comic, it's going to be a long-time thing. And the more you draw, the better your drawings get (after two years of drawing every morning, I was a pretty decent hand, and now, after five years without picking up the pencil except occaisonally, I suck again)

But I'm going to do it.

Uhhh.. before you all get too excited to be in the comic, I should let you know that the idea behind the comic is to make fun of all the dumb things runners do (as told by our main characters, the game version of KV and Archy, the generic rigger).

I'll basically be recapping every horrible stupid thing my group has ever done.

I can include you, if you really want... but it won't be in a flattering light.

Who's the token comic relief? And the reocurring villain who just won't quit?
Title: Re:Shadowrun Comic.
Post by: kv on March 22, 2007, 11:13:41 AM
No reoccuring villian- this is just two main characters (roommates) who have bad run after bad run.

Kid_Vid used to be a joke character in our games- he would show up all the time, trying to work straight jobs to pay the rent, and always had runners messing his life up.

Now that inside joke means that I have a main character and all sorts of plot stuff, and I can make a funny shadowrun comic.

Now Zone, don't you realize that even a troll can be taken down if you hit him with some nanites? Or you could even use a dozen drones carrying some Neurostun X or Green Ring 8. Tsk, tsk, tsk, you , my dear rigger, are losing your touch. :P

Yeah... no one goes "OOOooohhh!" if you hit someone with a nanite. But if you hit them with a railgun, you get the appropriate response.
