I watched the first episode last night. so far I'm liking it. Already had a couple twists. I can't wait till next Tuesday to see what happens next.

I was a big fan of the one in the 80s- it was my first real experience with 'it's not what it seems!'

I was looking forward to sharing it with my wife, but she isn't really into it. So I'll post my thoughts on here, and you can put up with them!

I saw the original.  Hunny and I started dating to it - it was on late night repeats and it sucked us in.  IIRC it ran from 12-2 am.  Haven't seen the new one, too busy. :(

Seeing as how she's been on here longer than I have, she's been on for at least 10 years. That would put her closer to 28-30, if nothing else.

I also grew up watching V, but it was with my dad and my brothers. The new version is the same idea, in a post 9/11 world, with the whole 'they're lying to us' spin maxed out.

I was surprised when Wash was an alien. I don't think the older priest is- but I bet the pope is! (Lizard Space Pope!)

Nu-uh, I saw it in sindication.  Since when is midnight a time for a premier of a show you goobs  :P

Syfy channel (why did they change their name anyway) had a marathon the day before the new V premiered.  I watched the last 10 minutes of the last episode, saw the guy kiss the girl on some big space ship, then tell some d00d with a weird voice to take them home, then some bitchy looking girl take off in a small space ship.  After my "wth is this" subsided I checked the program guide and it was starting again so I sat and watched all the episodes but had to go out so missed the last one hahaha.  So I've seen everything from the old serious except the first 1.5 hours of the last episode.

I think SyFy changed their name because they wanted to be associated less with geeks, and more with bad decisions in television. ;D

Anyway, I watched the original miniseries with my dad when I was a kid, but I never watched any of the additional series or anything. So maybe I'm missing out on all the inside references, but I'm just happy to see Morena Baccarin (the hot leader of the visitors) on tv again.

It's no Nathan Fillion in a 'space cowboy' halloween costume, but it's fun.

Tales from the Crypt used to play at night- and all the shows on Skinimax that my wife won't let me watch are on at midnight!

Just kidding, I think they're later than midnight. ;D
