This is a new(ish) series on ABC. It stars Nathan Fillion (Captain Mal from Firefly), as Richard Castle, a mystery writer who is called in for questioning when someone copies a murder out of one of his books. He gets involved in the investigation, and though his connections in New York, he's able to follow around Detective Beckett, a hot and smart detective who solves murders.
Castle bases his next main character after her, and they go from there.
It's in the middle of the second season now, and it's really fun to watch. I highly reccomend it, and if anyone else has seen it, I would love to discuss it.

when does it come on?

I've seen it a couple of times, but I seem to have a hard time keeping track of prime time network series. I liked it, love the woman who plays his mom (?) but I definately need to see more of them to form a critique

It's on monday nights (ABC, I think?), but you can catch episodes online at abc.com... or hulu, or any number of those sorts of places. The first season was weird, because I usually don't like murder mystery shows- but the writing is really crisp and tight- they make fun of the fact that people don't know what irony is since Alanis Morriset wrote that song, and occaisonally drop a little bit of knowledge on you.
Also, it's a lot of fun to watch Nathan Fillion act like a goofy excited mystery writer. I plan on buying the book for my wife for Christmas (one of her many presents).

hmm, monday nights I watch "How I Met Your Mother" and "The Big Bang Theory"

I'll try and catch up with it. I'm good with quirky mystery stuff; I watch Psych and read Stepahnie Plum books. I also liked Pushing Daisies - that was quirky.

Psych is fun. I love that they keep putting jabs at 'The Mentalist' on there. ;D

I like "The Mentalist"

The Mentalist is a more serious version of Psych- and Psych had been on tv for like two years when the Mentalist started. To say that they stole the idea and ran with it is not a far leap. ;D
I enjoy the 80s references and the writing of Psych. I don't take shows like that too seriously, so I'm not usually a fan of more serious ones. Castle being the exception.
