I believe the correct context is "Ruskiface Danger the Pirate, Jr."

:D

Very excited for my little nephew.

Mrs. Vid is currently pregnant with our first, a spawn we refer to as 'the Velociraptor.'

Heh.  I think that term could apply to our last one.  My wife and I often say that if she had been the first she would have been the last.

It's fun though.  I have 4 daddy's girls all the time even though my oldest is starting to want/get some independence.  It's had to do because you want to protect them as much as possible but you also know that they have to be able to figure out some things on their own.  Still working on that one but it's getting easier.

Being a dad has changed my life drastically.  For the better even though I feel I have way too much gray hair for being 41.   ;D

My parenting style is more 'lasi fair' I protect them by giving them paperclips, setting them next to light sockets and saying. "If you put that in there, it'll hurt. a lot." then I stand back with a video camera and watch the sparks fly. Afterwards I ask: "What did I tell you? And what did you do? And what happened? So what did we learn?"
Then I wrap it up with a loving:
"Okay, rub some dirt on that and walk it off."
It should be noted, that the initial egg-donor liked this policy so much she started bangin' other guys in order to find a better role model. or... something?
anyways, kid #1 is totally normal-ish, and kid #2 seems happy enough. *shrug*
so what I'm saying? Don't take any of my advice.
especially the advice about taking advice.

As the only other person on the forums to have met 'the ex,' I can honestly say with full confidence that her banging other dudes had less to do with your parenting style than it does to do with her weakness of character.

And since we were raised in similar circumstances, I can also say that sticking paper clips in outlets is painful, but completely survivable.
