Title: AR Glasses in development
Post by: Ingo Monk on October 15, 2013, 01:23:46 AM
Check this out:

www.kickstarter.com/projects/technicalillusions/castar-the-most-versatile-ar-and-vr-system

Pretty pricey, but so neat!  After 1 day they're more than half way to their goal of $400,000.  30 days to go!

$190 for a single pair of glasses without any fixings.  $745 gets you a set of 4 glasses, wow! :O

Don't forget google is still working on Project Glass which is supposed to do something similar as far as AR is concerned except it will have the power of the GOOGLE with it lol.  Now I love the ideas but unless companies start developing AR to advertise with I don't see it getting far until it is cheaper and more mainstream.

I just think it would be cool to get a bunch of people together to play RPGs with if they all had something like this.  No more need for figures or maps, you can have it all pop up in the AR view!

Google has a set of VT goggles you can make from cardboard, your smartphone, and about 12 bucks worth of lenses and magnets...
Go figure, technology for the masses! (Don't wear them in the rain)

Despite ex wives, angry members of management, and the zombie hoards... yes. Still pushing digital wind through my virtual teeth.

Who wants to wear glasses though? Too much hassle imo.
