Thoughts on Raptor
« on: February 01, 2006, 02:03:59 PM »

I wanted to comment, but I didn't want to break the continuity of the story.

couple of thoughts, comments, and so forth:

First off, the rule-nazi bit.
First: how would a hitcher jack work with a technomancer? is this 4th edition, or 3rd edition matrix? Aren't hitcher jacks installed on a cyberdeck, something the otaku are missing?

secondly, the decker overview:
Crashing IC is easy, it's sneaking arround it to keep your profile hidden that's the mark of a real decker. I don't know where he was that there was black IC just hanging out, tracking people, even other deckers, normally dosn't bring in black IC. (unless he was tripsing through a cellular network or something to triangulate a phone. if he hacked a triangulation server, a service that's normally illegal anyways, I could see that as having black IC protection)

beyond that. I like the imagry. the jurassic park theame was a nice touch, and keeping the fixer allong for the ride gave a nice 3rd person perspective to a 'fearless' hacker.
