X-Over Critique
« on: February 03, 2006, 02:59:03 PM »

I've tryed to work out the stats on most of the X-Men converted over to Shadowrun.

Wolverine dosn't work very well without a healing factor, but if you make him a ghoul it's not so much off.

Well, it's not a direct transfer.  Basically, I reworked them to fit within the Shadowrun framework.  However, if Wolverine was Awakened, I figured he might have been an older runner, before they fully realized the impact cybernetics have on magic (Or they just didn't care.  Either way, it works with him being some kind of experimental super-soldier).  First, make him a physad.  Then, once you subtract the essence cost of titanium bone lacing (Closest thing they have to Adamantium) and spurs, take whatever power points he has left and put them into enhanced smell, rapid healing and possibly body control.

I thought he was actually easier to convert than some other X-Men.

LOL yea, cyclopse with eye lasers it tough to do without some serious tweaking of the arc-whelding cyber implants. hahahaha

I guess you could get one of thoes cyber-boosters that takes up all the storage space in a cyber-limb, and let that be the battery pack...

I don't want to think about them trying to install an AriesMP laser gun in his head...

Teleportation would be a neat trick too for nightcrawler, they don't have much in the way of 'flight' magic either.

It'd probably have to come through a SURGE.  (That whole situation strongly reminded me of mutants)

Hey, how do you think I got my all-time favorite character X-overed. I love Apocalypse as many of you know so I figured that a Dragon fit the best after working it out years ago...heh heh. He was mainly a NPC but still I love to make guest appearances. Waiting for my eventual part in the run by posts someday...either this one or another. ;D

It was an interesting idea. It never occured to me as cross over material.  Wonder how you'd transfer the whole Rogue thing...

Dunno, haven't written her in.  I'm trying to keep the cast relatively low with characters I'm reasonably confident I can write.  And no offense to any fans, but Rogue was never a particular favorite.  Although if you have any ideas, I might give it a try.

Well, the WoD crossover I read didn't do a direct transfer, either.  He made the characters as actual denizens.  Ie. Wolverine was a werewolf from the Get of Fenris, Kitty Pryde was a Silent Strider, Jubilee was a Mage with Jean as her avatar...stuff like that.
