in short, they said on the main page, that the forum hosts screwwed up and had to fixx their systems... i think they just sat on their thumbs and twiddled their asses.

from what I gathered, they did the host migration, and there was a version incompatablity issue when they jumped servers.

Yeah, I got in touch with Ingo, during the "intermission".

The new server had an older incompatiable versions of MySQL. So it hiccuped. Also, his network guy was physically moving houses at the same time, so he had to finish that before he could fix the server. . .

It's shadowrun, SNAFU's are SOP. . .

Ahh. . . Good to be back though. . . Greetings Chummers!

Well, there is a difference between being able to come here when he had the itch, and being FORCED to stay away because it was down.

Like mandatory rehab. Much worse than when people put themselves in.

I e-filed my taxes yesterday, that's why it started working ;)

Hehe, jk!

Actually, allow me to elaborate:

We moved web hosts.  Why?  Currently the pub is on a sub-domain of bullhonkie.com.  On the new host, we will become www.shadowrunpub.com.  Neato?  Ya!

Problem: This forum (as well as the bullhonkie.com forums) run on a MySQL database.  The new host supports MySQL, but a significantly newer version of it.  Our older version of MySQL wasn't supported so the admins of the new host had to figure out a way to upgrade our old DB to be useable in the new one.

I guess they finally got it working!  :)
