X Men: Last Stand
« on: June 01, 2006, 04:49:00 AM »

So, anybody seen this yet?  I was thinking of seeing it next Tuesday... I'm looking forward to it but read a review saying it's crap (which is probably a good thing because now I'll have low expectations and I'll enjoy it :) )

I was thinking about going this weekend. I juat have to see Kelsey Grammer as the Beast. I mean I can just hear it now, "Hello, Magneto. I'm the Beast, and I'm listening." ;)

Of course, judging by the trailers I've seen, it sould be a who's who of mutants. I spotted dozens of bit-players in there. Although I was wondering why Leech (if it is indeed Leach who they are using to "cure" mutation) looks so damn normal in the trailers. Oh well, I'l let you all know when I see it.

One of da guyz was blown away by it - he included spoilers in his review which I won't but said that the Phoenix series is mutated and included. and of course Angel is there as is Shadowcat.  Now that's a power I'd like...

Acutally, the new director had all the same actors as the previous movie (as opposed to the previous director, who would re-cast important roles as they came up), so it feels like a lot more continuous than the previous one.

I loved it. I've even payed to see it twice already. (My girlfriend wanted to go to the midnight showing, and I went with my brothers again the next day).

It was all sorts of awesome.

Shadowcat and Nightcrawler have always been my favorite X-Men with Bishop and Gabit coming in second, right up to the point where Marvel made them both WIMPS!!!!! Personally, I can't wait to see the Sentinels. The art for them was included in the extras when X2 came out of DVD. I just hope the damn things aren't the old 1970's version but a bit more up to date. The sentinels in X-Men Evolution were actually pretty cool, but I know they wounl't reall be similar in the movie.

Actually, there's been a different actress for Kitty in each of the three movies.  Although considering she only had bit parts in the first two, I shouldn't be too surprised.

Heh, she was the reason I *went* to X3.

Hmmm...

X-Men: Sumela Kay
X2: Katie Stuart
X3: Ellen Page

You're right! (Although since she's your favorite character, I'm not exactly suprised or shocked by this)

Basically, here's how I  got interested:

1) Walking through walls? Cool!

2) She's waay smart.

3) She can fight.  Really well.

4) She has a pet dragon.

Things snowballs from there and I started buying as many of the comics involving her as I could find.  Don't care if it's an actual issue or a Graphic novel.  I buy 'em to read and reference for fanfics, not sit on a shelf looking pretty.

You gotta love a girl who can beat the Juggernaut by doing NOTHING! Damn cool scene in the movie.

I love the fact that that line came from a spoof on the internet making fun of the Juggernaut. You just have to love when scrpit-writers watch the same crap as everyone else. ;)
