Hello, all is there any games that have room for an opening... I was suposed to get into a dumpshock game but an opening never came?  I would like to play an orc decker, if there is any room in a game please let me know.

Hello, new here also.  I just started playing SR I got a 4th edditon rule book after playing in a session with some friends from the UK.

Just kidding- welcome to the Pub, Tish. We actually haven't managed to start a 4th Edition Game yet, so if you're interested, I'm sure there are at least a couple of people here who would be happy to participate. (Me among them, although I don't know 4th Edition well enough to GM anything yet)

Well since Iv only played in like two games,  I think it would be hard to DM.  IS third edition rules much diffrent?

Yeah, a little. They streamlined a lot of the rules (thier words, not mine), and they made the matrix a wireless 'augmented reality,' where you can hack the devices of the people around you.

And stuff.

I know Ingo (the Sysop) is running a 4th Edition campaign, and he might be happy to do one, and Ruski (my loud-mouthed older brother)  is chomping at the bit to play 4th Edition.

And hell, I'm more than willing to try it out. So we'll have a full roster.

Is anyone else interested in a 4th Edition Game?

Hey Kid Vid, is that game still open?  Do I need to find a third edditon rule book if I wanted to play?  Do I need to create a character or somthing?  Sorry for the questions, but iv never played a forum styled game before.

Hoi Tish,

Forum gaming is just like table-top pen & paper gaming with the exception being that one round tends to take a day or two. And yeah, you are going to have to create a character to play, but Kid_Vid and the others are usually really good about helping out with that. As for me, I still play 3rd edition, so I can't really advise you much on how to go about it for 4th. But just out of curiosity, do you have any character ideas?? You know, background, style, picture in your mind.

I've never even read fourth edition stuff, though I suppose I should. Is it really 'streamlined' or is just another marketing technique?

It's very WoD, in my humble opinion.

In fact, learning Shadowrun 4th Edition made joining a Werewolf group that much easier!

its kinda interesting because i happen to have a 4th ed book but haven't really looked at it... but well i guess the new generation of runners is coming to life at the pub and i should start looking for the playbooks

Well, I did start a thread down in the "Welcome to the Shadows" area, so that we could get cracking on the game, but... nobody responded.

If people wanted to start creating and posting characters, we can attempt to get a 4th edition game on the road, and start learning the rules.
