Simpsons the Movie
« on: December 22, 2006, 11:08:13 AM »

I have a buddy working as an animator on this one, but I'm wondering if it's going to be any good. I mean, the Simpsons were THE joke for more than a decade, but I think they kinda fell off in later seasons... although, they still are on TV.

Anyway, I'm going to see this trailer, too. I'll let you know what I think.

I've seen the trailer. I'm like you though. I'm worried if they haven't used up all their jokes. We'll see...

I don't think it will do very well. The Simpsons is just not as edgy as it used to be. Family Guy stole it's thunder.

Family Guy is targeted at a less intelligent crowd, though.

I actually prefer the Simpsons, but after watching it for a decade, I found better things to do with my time.

Me, personally, I dispise Family Guy, and all the characters except Brian (the dog). But that has a lot to do with the people who introduced me to Family Guy. Specifically, one guy that I couldn't stand said, "Hey Matt, you're cool like me! I bet you love Family Guy!" therefore cementing my intense feelings of hatred associated with it. And then my ex-girlfriend and her stoner loser friends would watch it in running marathons and laugh about how avante guard they were and how 'no one else got it.'

Le sigh. They were everything wrong with the world. Seriously.

Anyway, I think the Simpsons still have some incredible writers, and I know that the animation and style associated with the show have increased drastically. I'm afraid that no one will go see it because they're 'family guy' people now, or because they are like me and kinda stopped watching so much TV like six years ago.

I like family guy, but that's not stopped me from watching the simpsons. They're just not as interesting as they use to be

Aren't they the longest running TV show in american history by now? It's got to be them and The Price is Right. Doesn't it???

I thought "Murder: She Wrote" was the longest-running series ever.

I'm being serious- I remember hearing that at some point.

It probably is the Tonight Show.
