There was a Denver sourcebook that came out years ago, don't know if it's still in print.  I have a scan of it.

You can also check http://www.shadowrun4.com/missions/downloads/, all the missions are set in Denver so you could probably go through them and get some info on the area.

I have the old book on PDF and those missions are why I wanted info on Denver because eventually I'm going to run my group through there. Was just hoping there was something more current.

There's not really anything more current than the missions- they pretty much set the scene in Denver for 4th edition. I think the sourcebook that Ghostwalker premiered in (Year of the Comet?) has a bunch of info on Denver and the havock he wreaked there.

You don't need to know anything about Denver to run the missions- I'm four missions into it, and I fudge the stuff I don't know- they don't deal with Ghostwalker at all, and they don't deal with big players- they're working for the casquillo mob and stuff.

I really like the faction rules.

Also, I have no idea how denver is actually laid out (in real life or in Shadowrun), so when the players would ask me where 'downtown' was, I would point to a section of the map, and say 'it's right here!' and then that would be downtown. Luckily, nothing in the writing has contradicted me yet, but I keep waiting for it to happen.

The coolest thing is the the first few adventures really deal with each of the different zones, so crossing borders becomes a huge thing early on in the game, including coyotes and smuggler routes. My players found a smuggler dive on thier first or second mission, that they started using for planning.

That's pretty kewl.  I'll probably run those missions when I get around to running a game.

Speaking of maps, I have a Rand McNally Seattle and vicinity map.  Bought it when I went there a couple of years back.  Haven't pulled it out in a game yet though haha.

Internet for the win!

Each mission comes with the map for the area, showing streets and stuff (and where the borders are, I think), so you don't have to look too hard.

Seems like these missions are well thought out.  Definitely a good thing to get new people into the game or old people into the new system.  I'm wondering though, most adventures and such were set in Seattle, so a lot of people (myself included) based their games there.  With these adventures based in Denver, do you think more and more GMs will be running games based there?  That may be just the case, which means a little more source material (or perhaps even updated material in a reprinting) might be called for.

... But I still hold Seattle close to my heart ;)

I'm thinking of starting off doing all the missions, then have something happen that makes the group move to Seattle.

we can only hope. From what I have read of Denver it sounds like it's going to be intersting. What's really cool too is that we play about once every other week so the 25 missions equal about a year of gaming! We're still in the middle of playing oldschool west end star wars so not sure when we're going to get started. And I'm really happy to hear the missions come with a map

Yeah, the missions come with a map, and they're really easy to run.

If you run in Seattle (or Hong Kong, or any other city out there), they can be easily adapted- you'll just have to change names and areas.

The missions are written as an arc- so each plotline that starts with one of the missions has an ending written as well (there's one early on when a little girl gets assassinated that I've really been dying to close up), and at the end of the missions arc, there's basically the choice to clear out of Denver or get buried by an interested party.

The next arc moves to New York, coinciding with the new book about that area. I voted for Tokyo (since I was helping write missions at that point), but the new missions aren't free- they're something like $4 apiece. Still a steal, but just a little extra to pay for the artwork and stuff.
