Any of my fellow Pubber's fans of the Dresden books?

Yep. Read 'em.  The next one is due this month I believe.
I heard the author tolerates the series because its popularity allows him to write his true love - blood & thunder fantasy - none of which I've ever read.

I liked the show, and I was sad when it was canceled, but I have to admit, the books are a thousand times better than the show.

Heh. The RPG (Which I've been reading up on) actually makes a dig at the show, and suggests that if you need a feature that your real-life town doesn't have, you can 'Vancouver' it, and just make shit up. The RPG book has a ton of writing in the margins, done by 'Harry' approving details for the RPG that 'Billy' (the werewolf) wrote up.

It's a fun system (a writer's system, which was surprising to me), and I'm looking forward to attempting to run it this weekend. Fingers crossed.

The new book is out (It's called Changes), and it's a good read. It ends with a cliffhanger, and I'm excited to see how things turn out.

I've also heard that Butcher writes the Dresden books to finance his favorite- they're called the Codex Alera (spelling I'm not sure on?), and I have a buddy who read them, who loves them. So they come highly recommended (by a friend of a friend).

I'll let you know what I think once I read through them, but until then, I'm looking forward to my bit of wizard pyromancy. :D

I'll have to go and get the new one then.  I know the premise al ready, but I get irritated by cliffhangers in novels where one usually has to wait two or more years to get closure.  Pretty sure hunny is ready to lobotomize GRR Martin to get the rest of his story.

No more new tv shows? Do you not have USA in your cable?

I await the summer return of Leverage, Psych, and ... mostly Leverage. That show is awesome.

As to the Dresden files, for those of you who have never seen nor heard of it, you can watch a bunch of the full episodes on YouTube for free.
Here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=frpIQird6Tk
(This is the first episode, Birds of a Feather)

It messes up some of the details (Murphy isn't blonde, the lab isn't in a hidden basement, Bob isn't just a talking skull), but it gets the tone of the books right. At least that was my take. Anyone else feel differently?

Just finished the latest novel.  He's still doing solid work, though I did see where this one was going pretty quick

Okay, without posting spoilers, who do you think did it?

It was like Kincaid said, but I'm not sure who has the most to gain.

Messy so not a pro.  Not Kincaid, for instance.  Unless its an out...as his tenure for Winter Knight, say...

I'm trying to consider each person on the merits of skill, benefit to them, and general evil.

Cowl wants Harry, but he doesn't use rifles.
Marcone wants Harry, but he owes the man many favors, and gains power just from being associated with him.

I'm wondering if the crack about "God works in mysterious ways" was a hint at it. Harry slipped just before it happened, so I'm guessing what it was supposed to be, it wasn't.

Kincaid works, just because he uses rifles, and we've yet to see the people holding his leash.
Technically, Hendricks could have done it too, because he uses rifles.
