SR4th ok so where are the supplements?
« on: February 12, 2006, 10:51:37 PM »

I know SR 4 went off like  a bomb for us fans getting snatched up like mad.  Now I am wondering when they are going to expand on it?  Seriously it been almost four months and they haven't even announced the release date for even one of the expansions.  They fixed a lot of their typos and errors in 4th when am I going to get street magic and runner havens?  I really want thos books for the game I am currently in.  Any thoughts quips or rants?

Most, if not all of the supplements from 3rd edition are supposed to be usable (4th edition is supposed to be backwards-compatible)

So all of the location sourcebooks... who are we kidding? You can't have something like the matrix crash, and not have severe ramifications all over the globe as a result of places that are heavily dependant on it.

Especially with intensified fighting in the east (japan and china and thier little buddy Taiwan) breakdown in the middle east (Ibn whatever his name was), and problems with AAA shakeups in europe. (Lowfyr is still on top, but for how long? The Uganda say: Many jackals bring down the mightiest of lions.)

How much do the sharks have to starve before they eat the biggest one.

I don't think you're gonna see S-K go down. I don't see Lofwyr just throwing up his wings and calling it quits.

It's okay, I just made up that saying.
Uganda too, although I think that is a real place.

Well, in SR timeline, it probably doesn't exist anymore.

From my understanding (and to repeat KV), the 'places' sourcebooks (i.e. Shadows of Europe, Shadows of Asia, Smuggler's Havens, etc.) are fully compatible with SR4 since they don't have any specific rules additions or changes.  Any equipment in those sourcebooks would have to be looked over by your GM to be converted to 4th edition rules.

IMO, I don't think they're going to come out with any rules expansion sourcebooks like Cannon Companion and such.  I believe the goal of 4th edition was to simplify and streamline the rules, and rules expansions would probably do the opposite of that.

I'll probably be trying out 4th edition in the near future, and we'll see how it goes.  As of right now I think I still prefer 3rd ed, though I haven't played 4th yet so we'll see.

I'm to senile and cranky to bother with SR4, unless someone gives me a REAL good reason.

Now where's my teef?
