Sadly, the situation we're in has given power to people who should never be allowed to dictate - virologists in particular, when given power beyond their field of expertise, are a often bunch of tin plated, germ freak, social misfits who want everyone to do as they do and think as they think, and they've had a year of conditioning to get that bs started. Not to mention that the more frighted people are, the more you can push them around, and in the US the new administration is guaranteed to try and keep that dynamic going - from bullying boob to faction whore influence peddler, the US is no better off. Oh, for a president with common sense and intellect, but we went from Tin Man to Cowardly Lion.
