Righteo.  I'll go back to the front of the store, using the shelves as cover, and pour the oil on the floor in front of the orks!

you pull on the 'SAFETY_POUR' tab, that breaks off in your hand, then after swearing, you hit it, and the entire top caves in. (it must have been defective) the floor is now covered with oil. you have to step carefully on this side to make sure that you don't get it on your shoes.

Let me clarify - did the oil go in front of the orks, or just at my feet?

Well, I did assume that you weren't pouring it over the tops of your own shoes, but it is hard to 'arc' that sorta thing. the best you could do is to put it between you and them.

Right, that's what I was after.  Now to get a lighter!

Easy enough. You get a lighter, take a couple of seconds to figure out the correct combanation of hand jestations to deactivate the safety lock, and with several deft flicks of your thumb... you have a small fire to call your own.

...guess not...

Right, well then I'll yell out something like "Begone, foul cretins, before your juices congeal on this establishment's flooring!"  :P

The masses look momentarily taken aback by the impressive display of pyro-technics... but they aren't fleeing in terror... more they are watching as the highly combustable contents of the shack begin to catch flame, and release highly toxic burning plastic smoke into the area.

OOC
I don't think I intentionally set fire to anything yet, but ok...
/OOC

Can I squirt some of the oil/fuel through the blaze at the orks?

Well, it's in a barrel right now, you could probibly throw one at them, but there's no garuntee that it'll break open on connection... or not break open when you try to throw it... and it's pretty heavy. perhaps if you could think of a way to squirt them?

I was under the impression the top had caved in, so I'd be able to throw it through - but I'm guessing that it wouldn't catch on fire just from passing through any flames that may be around.

Oh, you are using the mostly empty barrel? you could certanly throw that, and it would certanly light up on contact with the flames. I thought you were going to get a new barrel.

As it stands now, you have the orcs inside the store subdued / stunned, a wall of fire between you, and the orcish army outside, a haze of firework smoke, burning oil, and aparently toxic fumes that are coming off of the burning salty-soy-snacks (that makes you wonder how healthy it really is to eat thoes, even if there is a picture of the surgen general, driving his dimond studded euro-westwind on the side with the 'thumbs up' signal, and a little bubble saying 'Chips are mostly good for you!')

the orcs seem hesatant to do anything. (aparently the stuffer shack never exploded before they robbed it, normally keeping thoes sorts of displays for afterwards) but it's looking grim for our heros on the inside of afore mentoned burning building. Jumping through the flames could work, but then you'd be mono-e-masses with the Orc Army, and back exits aren't very forthcoming in apearance. there is a stock room, but it's got a big 'not an exit' sign on it. *shrug* could be just to stop shoplifters from using it though.

/ooc Remember how I asked the spirit to "protect it's domain?" Shouldn't it use it's "accident" power to accidentally make the built-in sprinkler systems turn on?

Oh crap, I forget that right now we are on Aztechnology corporate property... That means that the sprinklers might go off but...

What kind of Security rating is this neighborhood? You know, AAA, AA, A, B, C, D, E?

/ooc

Uh... well, the sprinkler systems could turn on. but it's aztech, so it's a halon system. (kills the fire by removing the air from the room) so it wouldn't help you much, seeing as how you also need that air... also, the front of the store is gone, so the fire would have lots of air, and you would have none.

in other news, this is; at best a Security 'C' Rated area. (a border between a B and a D) however, fireworks of this magnitude are going to be tripping warnings in the B area, so you can probibly expect 'the heat' to show up within a minute or so....

Is there anything I could spray over myself to give me temporary fire resistance?  Just enough to briskly walk through the flames?

There's a whole lot of bottled water, carbonated and otherwise in the cooler... just don't mix it up with the vodka.
