currently the biggest problem with the mini-helocopters is the link.
they opperate in the 900 mhz to 2.4ghz range, and have back up chanel finding and some other cool stuff.
but: they are vunerable to cellphone jammers, microwave ovens, and other common interfearance.
you can be happily buzzing allong, then someone microwaves a burrito and bam! upside down in a ball of flames.
or, you get cross-chatter: if you are flying with a group of 5 guys, and someone signal jumps onto your frequency, your tentative control of hovering pitch rotation and collective ballance suddenly gets a 'digital crosswind'. if you are high up, you can recover. if you are 50 feet from tera-firma... not so much.
all and all, its an ace i wouldn't mind having on my team. but i wouldn't rely on it for every situation.
