Only half Yankee, baby, and I'm bilingual too - I speak English and American.  
And Root, tha native language south of the Smith and Wesson line in the USA is a subdialect know as southern.
They also have a different dating system  - while the rest of us use designations like AD and BC, down ther its BW - before the [Civil] War, like it happened last week  ;D
