Hmmm... I wonder if there's some sort of equation we could work out, to see the inflation of the price of consoles. Nintendo 8-bit to the Supernintendo, Supernintendo to the Nintendo 64, Nintendo 64 to the Gamecube, Gamecube to the Wii... although the Wii would probably be a price reduction, because it has no graphics capability and is made from some cheaper parts and stuff.

Well we'd have to pick a base commodity.  If we stuck with alcohol like the previous example, we simply need to find what the current price was at the time of each release, and correlate that with price of the game system.  Perhaps if I had a bit more time tonight I'd look it up.

I believe we should stick with beers (on the Deering scale), just for a baseline of price comparison.

Ha. ;D I saw. Honestly, it's not worth this much effort. I just thought it was a funny way to compare actual costs, rather than money value. (I think physical inflation, or price increases, vastly outstrip monetary inflation, or the money slowing value because the market is crowded with it).

Oh I don't mind, it's actually pretty entertaining.  I learn a little bit about history too.  Which is something that always interests me.  Like I believe I mentioned about the huge inflation around 1997 which doubled the cost of beer around the world.  And in the more recent year I was reading about the world barley production, and how some people fear another spike in prices is soon to come.
