27 weeks of hell.

I've heard it compared to seven months of marine boot camp with a full time college class schedule thrown in for good measure.

really though, if you can't memorize 2000 pages of vehicle codes and how to enforce them while getting yelled at and doing push ups in the rain, what good are ya'?

well, every academy is different, but they all seem to try to keep the 'it sucks here' level about the same.

some things to look forward to:
if it's not a live-in academy, you can go home at night. the staff sergeants won't come to your house and harass you... probably.

if it's shorter than 27 weeks, you may learn less up front, but on the job training isn't bad, and less time spent at the academy is good.

If your room-mate is a total screwup, they'll take all the attention off of you. at least untill they get fired.
