oh yea. Johnny Depp does well in all his movies, even if I didn't like them, aka From Hell.

One of my favorites is Ninth Gate...not sure why but I thought he did a good job in that movie...and Benny & Joon was good too.

Hey Jester is it true that they put in subtitles for Brad Pitts role in Snatch in other countries? I heard a rumour somewhere that they did, but not sure myself  :-\

A great actor Keanu may not be, but I challenge you to find anyone who could have fit Neo in the Matrix movies so well.

Johnny Depp I'm very impressed with. Especially his role in Sleepy Hollow; my favorite of his movies. XD

I'm not much of a fan of Brad Pitt. Not so much due to his acting (I think he's an excellent actor; great performance in 12 Monkeys), but due to his prideful nature. It could just be me, but he sure seems boastful.

Brad Pitt? A bad actor? As opposed to Keanu Reeves? You must be kidding... He may be a studly hunk (or so I'm told) , but anyone who has seen Se7en, Meet Joe Black, Snatch or Fight Club, MUST acknowledge his acting talent... whether or not you LIKE him, that's your own problem...

And imagining some else than Keanu Reeves as Neo is impossible, not improbable, not unlikely, but IMPOSSIBLE. We have all seen the Matrix and we all have enjoyed it, to some extent. Who would you rather have been acting the part of Neo? And please.. give us some arguments which would stand up in court...

And forgive me for any errors.. I'm am SO drunk right now, I almost can't stand up...

Harrison Ford!  :o I bet he'd be good, after all he is an all time action legend, appearing in such greats as Star Trek, Nebraska Jones and The Fumigator  ::)

LOL you're right can't imagine anyone taking Keanu's role away from him, although Christian Slater could do a good job  :-\ (sorry trying to gear myself up to go to the gym and not doing a very good job of it)

Christian Slater would be a good choice and I'm thinking someone like Billy Zane (even though he is not that good of an actor sometimes) or the bad guy (can't think of his name) in the movie with Jet Li called Cradle to the Grave or a last recommendation was Chow Yun Fat...I think he could do it well too.

Believe it or not, I do think Reeves made a good Neo. After those movies, it really is near impossible to think of anyone else playing the role. However, the acting was fair at best. Reeves never, NEVER passes off emotion as authentic in anything he ever does. The role of Neo didn't really take much ability to play.
The character was, right up until the end, completely out of his element in the world he found himself in. IN the Matrix, he hated his job, longed for something better, and never could figure out how he fit in. Outside of the Matrix, he was surrounded by people who idolized him, had almost no real skills, and was never comfortable with his role as "savior". When he jacked in, all he really had to do was fight like hell and hope he whooped the ass of everyone around him. He wasn't even very smart. He just went on instinct. All in all, a 2-Dimensional character at best, and Reeves failed to add anything to the role at all.
