  There wasn't anything to add to the role. That's what I liked most about the movies. When Neo went "Whoa." We all went "Whoa." When Neo said "I know kung fu!" We ALL thought how friggin cool that would have been.

Neo wasn't brilliant. Neo wasn't deep and emotional.

Neo was us.

   The part of the movie that sinched it for me was at the very end, when he was making the phone call... and I thought to myself... "Wow... if I could do anything... I think I would FLY!" And then out of nowhere, Neo flies out and the movie ends.

  Gabe makes a good point about Neo not fitting into either world. I think that Reeves is jsut about perfect for the role. He's someone who is believeable to be either brilliant or not bright enough... We could understand that he was good with computers, and we weren't suprised when he tried to run out of that train station.

   But I liked the Movies. Call me a fan.

I have to agree that the movies were good but I think I was expecting a little more...not sure but maybe more twists in the story or something.

Essentially, yes.

  Can you picture anyone but Arnie playing Conan? Some people are jsut perfect for a role. Others not so much. (Billy Zane as the Phanotm, for instance... they had a chance for Bruce "Don't call me Ash" Campbell, and they passed on him so they could use an underwear model. *sigh*)

I think the phantom would have been a lot better with Bruce... Billy sucked in that movie.

  Everything sucked in that movie. Even Catherine Zeta-Jones wasn't hot...

  Of course, it did supply us with the incredible "Toothpaste? Oh really?"

   But there was no Billy Zane in THAT scene.
