I'm trying to get that bar by my name in the members list to get thicker.  Guess I still need a few more posts.

Real Age dosn't mean much in the digital realm.

It's just your experence as relative to the other personas in that medium.

so, you could be a greenhorn shadowrun player, a vetrin poster, and a retired computer salesperson, all at the same time.

In real life, I'm 28. But, I've been fixing computers for 20 of thoes years, (should retire any day now LOL) and I've been a 'pirate' for slightly less time than that.
I've been here on the pub a long time. Not as long as some of the others, but I'm certanly one of the more vocal partisapants, making me 'old guard' kinda by default.

*shrug* I've only been playing shadowrun for a couple of years, so I'm a N00B in that regards, but rollplaying in general i've been doing for as long as i've been fixing computers. (Yea, i'm a geek)

so, that's my long and un-asked for life history.
howz about you?

24 IRL, been role playing since fall of 2000  (The college had a gaming club and I was curious.  Incidently, the first character I ever made was a physad.), left school to do four years Air Force, and am now living with 'rents and back at college.  I've posted on other forums, but this one seems the most interesting right now.  As far as computers go, I spend most of my time reading or writing fanfics with the occasional game if I'm bored.

Dunno if it's because it was the system I started on or what, but I think Shadowrun''s my favorite.  I like the non-class based character creation and the more realistic damage rules.  (At least compared to D20 systems)

D&D (I think just about every gamer has played that one at least once), Star Wars, both WEG and D20 (Guy in the gaming club worked at a hobby store, so we got to play test the D20 system), GURPS Discworld, Other GURPS, Werewolf: The Apocolypse, uhm...a couple of LARPs (First con I ever went to, they had a Shadowrun LARP).  I think there were a couple others, but those are the ones I can think of off hand.

Uhm, as for what I like about each.

D&D--Common game, easy to find players.  For awhile I could just about build a 3rd ed. Elven Rogue from memory up to lvl 3 or 4

GURPS--open character creation, allows for virtually anything. (Within GM's parameters)

Werewolf--What can I say?  I like shapeshifters

LARP--Get to walk around, wear cool outfits/accessories, some allow boffer fights

Shadowrun--open character creation, a high level character can still get killed with a knife and a low level character can (theoretically) survive a grenade, the blend of high-tech and magic.

Star Wars--Well, it's Star Wars.  Need I say more?
