Now that just makes a person think. If the natives use the language in this fashion, then isn't in intrinsicly correct since the language is created & maintaned by the natives who speak the language??? Or am I just making excuses for bad typing??? 
First of all, you might've had a point, if the language hadn't been codified and maintained, but these days, it is.
Second of all, it could be argued
you (as americans) actually
aren't natives speaking the language. The language is
english, the language of the english, who typically do not make that sort of mistakes (in my experience).
It's my distinct impression that you are (though possibly not by concious choice) are indeed making excuses for not just bad typing, or lazy typers, but for an educational system that's basically just not up to specs. But that's admittedly just my impression, from sitting outside and looking in.
