it's all about compatition.
if you have two providers for high speed internet access, haggle.
call one up, say you were looking at their competator, get their price.
call the other one up, and say that you have a price for the other guy, but you would be willing to switch if you got a better deal.
call up the original guy, ask to speak to a manager, or shift supervisor, or whatever, explain that you are doing comparison shopping for your friends, and that currently the best price offered was their competator, and give them the amount, say that you like their service more, but it all comes down to the almighty dollar, and unless he gives you a special rate you'll have to recomend their competator.
that should get you down arround $20/month if you make all your charisma checks.
if you don't have any compatition in the area, find out where else your provider provides for, and find compatition in that area, and give them the run arround (they may not know that you are in a monopoly zone)
same ending, but barganing from a posistion of less power typically yealds worse results.
