Yeah, it's workable though.

Hey, how about doing fights in IRC?  When a battle occurs we could all work out a day/time we could meet in an IRC channel and run the fight.  Put in a bot as a dice roller, and away we go.

Know of any good bots I could use to admin a channel in IRC?  I have an extra box I could wipe and put Linux on if need be (I hear linux has better bots for IRC than Windows, but it's been a while).

didn't one of us have a IRC site with SR bots on it already to do battles?... i went to it a couple of times, but was overall unimpressed with the quality of gameing that went on there. hmmm... well, i think for now we should stick with how it is. i'm online enough that if someone is in an exciteing battle, and they are online too, we can still do a slightly faster blow by blow accounting, and everyone else here can enjoy it too.

because even though everyone isn't in the run, most people are at least following it.

That's true, it was just a thought ;)

That's how most other online gaming people do it.  I remember reading about a Play-By-E-Mail group that would schedule dates to do battles in IRC, and everything else was by e-mail.

well, if our group was any larger i would consider it, but as it is, with just three people, it's not THAT slow.

also, this is more a source of daily enjoyment than a super-serious-high-profile shadowrun.

i look forward to throwing little twists at you all, and i'm sure that you guys look forward to thinking up cool ways to get out of trouble every day... kinda like an interactive online comic. almost as good as shadowrun, but not so serious. trying to up it to the next level seems kinda like a waste of effort. if we wanted to step it up, it would probibly be better to just schedule a seperate run, with whoever could make it, and play for a couple of hours that way.

that's just my thoughts though.

Yeah, you're right.  With just us 3 we're probably doing just fine.  Probably keep it in mind for a larger number of players though, cuz it might get a tiny big hectic.
