Land of the Lost
« on: October 15, 2007, 08:59:02 PM »

I was just reading about the production of this movie- apparently Will Ferrell is attached to the project, and it looks like it'll be a comedy.

Fingers crossed, maybe it'll be serious... or at least not suck.

I actually really enjoyed that show and I think it has the potential to be a good movie.  I too keep my fingers crossed!  :-\

eh, I could never really get into that one. But I guess I can give it a shot. But if Will Feral is involved you can bet on it being a comedy

Not Necessarily. Have you ever seens "Stranger than Fiction?" It was more drama than comedy (although it had funny moments) and was definately a stretch for him. It was also his best movie as far as I'm concerned. To me, he topped out with the whole Cow Bell thing.

Stranger than Fiction was just Will Ferrell playing the straight man.

I think "Ricky Bobby" is more his speed. Although apparently he's actually pretty intelligent in real life... or, I've heard that. He could just be playing off the common misconception that big people are stupid. I know I've used that one once or twice to my advantage.

I liked him in Elf, and "Ricky Bobby" had his funny moments.  And I never made it through Stranger Then Fiction, it just didn't appeal to me.  But I still would like to see where they go with it  :-\

Yeah, I actually really liked the movie "Elf," but it wasn't really a Will Ferrell movie. They just cast him for being a huge man-child that could exude innocence. I was actually impressed with the performances of the rest of the cast, especially James Caan and Maggie Gyllenhaal.

Land of the Lost?  Like with Sleestax?

Dang, my pop culture trivia meter just blew a gasket.

I remember the sleestax giving me nightmares when I was a kid, but the effects were worse than anything I'd ever seen. Even then.

The graphics did suck but something about it still kept me watching.  But then again I was also young when it aired.

This is the one with the fire-breathing dimetrodon, right?

And there were two tyrannosaurus' that would follow and harass the group?

Oh, early 80s live action shows, how we loved you and your horrible special effects.
