I don't know that it was an accident.

I saw him eyes the cooks and cradling the hot sauce in one claw.

"Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and good with ketsup."

A friend told me that once, and I later found (and bought) the T-Shirt.

Well, old Scales was probably the one who started the saying way back when. Of course, you should be fine. I don't think he's ever eaten a fellow pubber. Of course, we've haven't seen Squire since we changed locations... :apoc:

eh.  I happen to be of the opinion dragons got a raw deal in most of the old legends.

You should try finding a story called "The George Business"  It's in some anthology with other dragon stories. (I'll have to check the actual title of the book when I get home.)

One of the cardinal rules of the Sixth World is "Never deal with a dragon." And that is a good rule.

*grin* Nope.  A rather scrawny, but smart, knight named George goes up to a dragon and makes a deal: George wants to marry the daughter of a rather wealthy baron, but he's sixth on the list of suitors.  He's in it for the money (Which the dragon understands perfectly) and as she prefers the brawny-type, he asks the dragon to kidnap her and he'd ride in to 'rescue' her.  The dragon would fake an injury and George would drop payment during the fight.

It sort of worked.  The girl had been married earlier that day, and the shock killed her father.  The new baron, (not liking the looks she was giving her 'rescuer') gives George a new set of armor, a horse, and a document identifying him as a dragonslayer.

The dragon then asks George for help in a similar matter with a female dragon, with a similar outcome.

They wind up becoming partners scamming villages being 'terrorized' by the dragon.

it's generally good advice, yea... but if the dragon really wants to deal with you... *shrug* sometimes it just can't be helped.

I think the split was either 70-30 or 60-40 in favor of the dragon.

personally, my 'negeotions' with a dragon go something like this:

D: "I want you to work for me."
me: "what? who are you?"
D: "I will pay you very well."
Me: "You are a dragon aren't you?"
D: "Yes."
Me: "I'll do whatever you want for free, just please don't kill me!"
D: "no promises."

Probably because you didn't have a poison-tipped lance.

nah, I found that the poison often drys up, or gets washed off in the seattle rain, and it's tough to carry a lance while taking the bus. (they always make you check it under the bus, and it smells down there, and then you forget to pick it up when you get off and...)

Poison? Washed off by Seattle rain?

And what exactly does Seattle rain qualify as in your book?
