Doesn't thier essense loss come from the chrome first, anyway? So if you lose a point of essence, and you have three points of essence loss from cyberwear, don't you just take it out of the "buffer"?

Hey, Ruski, I think Raymond's about to pick up a new nickname if he keeps shooting his mouth off.

Heh, Raymond.

I kidnapped a scientist, defended a stuffer shack, and bargained for more money, and all I got was this lousy T-shirt. . . .

hahahahaha. that's great. I hope it's a nerps color T-Shirt at least.

and essence loss is essence loss. if you've got a 'hole' with chrome in it, it comes afterwards. you can fill that new hole with more chrome if you liike... but... if you've only got 0.32 essence remaining in the first place...

Here is a funny hting that happened in a game I was playing..  My team and I were sent to go get someone and bring them to a meeting.  This person was aware of two things one there were people looking for him to prevent him from going to the meeting.  The second was that there were people trying to help him get to the meeting (us).  So we drive down to his apartment complex (this is in Denver by the way after Ghostwalker stomped on it)  so we had the fun of sector jumping.  Anyway I stand outside with my ic girlfriend the street sam and i was a weapon specialist.  The sniper was on a building across the way keeping watch out.  Our mage was in the car keeping astral watch and her sister (another street sam) and our heavy weapon specialist went to collect the person.  Well this is the funny part as the specialist gets there he knocks on the door and his exact words are, "We've come to getcha."  Well you can guess the guy on the insides reaction was time to get out.  He rigged up a grenade to the door and got out through the fire escape.  SO we are standing outside seeing this guy come flying down the fire escape.  Well the guy who knocked got impatient and yanks open the door.  Luckily for him the partner in the hall yanked him out of the way as the pin flew by.  The room went boom and my reaction was.  "Ok what the hell did he say to the guy?"  We caught the guy convinced him we were the good guys and got him to the meeting without incident after that.

Hmmm... this won't be simple like that. Or mabye it will. AJ just wanted some practice dealing with Mr. Johnson, because she hasn't had a lot of chances to lock horns with him thus far.

Hopefully we'll be able to pull it off.  At least this character doesn't have the Impulsive flaw.

and if nothing else... perhaps it'll be fun!

at least with 20K upfront we'll be able to do a good bit of legwork, and have a little bit of throw-arround money left over. either to keep for a rainy day and pay the electric bills, or to help hide ourselves from Aztechnology.

I'm going to want to put about half of that into legwork. I have some contacts to dump it into (decker-wise) to get layouts bouth on our target, and employeer. (it's best to spread the money bouth ways, just in case)
if we need specalty gear for the run, or to hire a T-Bird or something, I don't have contacts for that; but if we want to pay the $5K finder's fee, I know a guy who'll give us a contact.

So, since the actual research is arbitrary, what do you guys think it should be? What should Dr. January be working on? Would he have a prototype? Or is the smoker's corp extracting him before it gets that far?

Ooh, also vote on who you guess the Smoker is working for!

well, January's working for a food corp, so maybe a new soy formula or a more efficient processor?

As for the Smoker...I dunno, maybe an Ares subsidiary?

When I think food industry, I think Aztechnology. They have the best in "natural" foods *cough*, so it would make sense that they would like to try to stay on top. Not to mention, they stand to lose the most, if whatever January's project turns out to be a success for his corp.

Perhaps January is developing a soy-food that tastes better than true food.

That or a foodstuff that can grow in desert sand, gravel, or otherwise solve a global food crisis. . .
